In environments prone to explosions, all non-electrified exposed metal parts such as casings, frameworks, conduits, and cable protection accessories must be individually and reliably grounded.
Cable Isolation Sealing Deficiencies
Electrical wiring within steel conduits in explosive gas environments must be effectively isolated and sealed, adhering to the following specifications:
1. Isolation sealing is mandatory within a 450mm radius of any ignition source housing during normal operations;
2. Isolation sealing is essential within 450mm of any junction box connected to steel conduits larger than 50mm in diameter;
3. Isolation sealing is required between adjacent explosive environments and between explosive and either hazardous or non-hazardous neighboring environments. The seal should include a fiber layer to prevent leakage, ensuring the layer is at least as thick as the inner diameter of the conduit and not less than 16mm thick.
