The primary purpose of explosion-proof fans is not to prevent the fan itself from exploding, but rather to avert dust explosions in the production environment. In certain industries, processes generate flammable and explosive dust, such as metal or coal dust. To prevent these kinds of dust from becoming airborne during production, exhaust systems are commonly used for suction and collection.
