Wiring in explosion-proof distribution boxes during installation and maintenance is a common task, particularly when extending connection lines. Often, due to non-standard operations by some technicians, issues like damaged power lines, mainboard components, fuses, and communication failures occur frequently. Today, we share a series of standard wiring procedures and precautions, with a focus on residential explosion-proof distribution boxes and their circuit configurations:

Experienced electricians often ponder whether to connect the neutral wire of a residential explosion-proof distribution box circuit to the neutral bar. Not every circuit’s neutral wire needs to be connected to the neutral bar; it usually depends on the type of air switch we choose.

Residential electricity typically uses single-phase (220V) power, and the switches in the distribution box can be categorized into three types based on poles: 1P, 1P+N, 2P. Let’s delve into the wiring methods for these switches:

Wiring of a 1P Switch in an Explosion-Proof Distribution Box:

As seen in the image above, a 1P switch has only one input and one output, each with a single live wire and no neutral connection;

Thus, the neutral wires can only be connected to the neutral bar, with both input and output wires connected there.

From the image above, it’s evident that a 1P+N switch has two terminals for both input and output, each with a live and a neutral wire;

For a 1P+N switch, both the live and neutral wires are connected directly to the switch’s input and output terminals, bypassing the need for a neutral bar.

The image above also shows that a 2P switch has two terminals for both input and output, each with a live and a neutral wire;

For a 2P switch, both live and neutral wires are connected to the switch’s input and output terminals, similarly bypassing the neutral bar.
