While robust, long-lasting, and energy-efficient explosion-proof lights don’t require constant upkeep, extended use without maintenance can significantly impact their performance and shorten their lifespan. Without regular maintenance, potential safety hazards in LED explosion-proof lights might go unnoticed. As these lights are generally installed in hazardous locations prone to flammable and explosive materials, inadequate maintenance can lead to decreased sealing, corrosion resistance, and overall performance, potentially causing explosion incidents. For instance, failing to regularly clean dirt accumulated on the LED explosion-proof lights can affect their luminous efficacy and heat dissipation. Therefore, regular maintenance and care for LED explosion-proof lights are crucial to extend their lifespan and ensure their stability and reliability.

Waterproofing Capability:

Many people assume that because LED explosion-proof lights are designed to contain external explosive gases, they must have excellent sealing properties and can prevent rainwater from entering, making them suitable for outdoor and open-air environments. This assumption is incorrect. There are various types of explosion-proof lights, including flameproof, increased safety, pressurized, non-sparking, and dust types. Inevitable explosive gases impose different requirements on the shell grade and explosion-proof type of LED explosion-proof lights. For example, the shell grade of an LED explosion-proof light might not meet explosion-proof requirements due to the high material strength of flameproof LED lights, which can withstand internal explosions without damage. This has nothing to do with the shell grade or notable sealing performance; there are no special requirements for the shell protection grade. This misconception conflates shell protection grade with explosion-proof type.

Unnecessary in Agricultural Processing Facilities:

There’s a common misconception that agricultural processing enterprises don’t need to install explosion-proof lighting equipment and only require ordinary lighting. This is based on the belief that there are no explosive gases or dust in the work environment of agricultural processing facilities. However, this notion is somewhat erroneous. Agricultural processing environments often contain flammable, non-conductive dust, such as raw rye flour, which is considered explosive dust. Various explosive hazard indicators, like red phosphorus in metals, can cause explosion incidents when they come into contact with the arcs produced inside ordinary lighting fixtures. This is one of the common reasons for explosion incidents in agricultural processing facilities.
